"This
Is The Best Hotel in Athens - Best Location, Best Service"
|
The
service at this hotel was beyond excellent-the staff was
the best I've met in years. We had 12 people in our group.
At every moment the employees suggested great places to
dine, which sites we should see and met our every expectation.
One day a member of our group had his birthday - the staff
even delivered us a beautiful birthday cake! This hotel
has the ideal location of being in the center of Platka
(for shopping). We stayed in a suite on the top floor,
we sat on our deck as often as we could with exquisite
views of the Acropolis. I was offered a less expensive
rate at the King George and Bretagne, but from all we
ever heard the AVA Hotel Athens was the place to stay
... and I will recommend this hotel to all my friends
who go to Athens. |

"Great
location for seeing historic Athens" |
We
stayed at this lovely small hotel when in Athens for a
conference recently. The conference venue was a few stops
away on the fantastic new metro built for the Olympics
- its a winner - clean, efficient, safe and cheap and
the nearest station just a short walk from the hotel!
This hotel is just under the Acropolis, and all the historic
areas and archaeological sites are within comfortable
walking distance. The area is mostly pedestrianised, and
full of tourist shops and tavernas, but still very pleasant
to wander around.
The hotel itself is very comfortable, and the staff and
service excellent. They are planning to redecorate soon,
which will make it even better, although we had no complaints
about the furnishings in our executive suite. It had a
functional kitchenette, large living area and very comfortable
king size bed. From our balcony we looked up to the Acropolis,
and down to Hadrian's gate and the temple of Zeus. Nice
touches were sparkling wine on arrival in an ice bucket,
and a gift box of baclava to apologise for some minor
noise relating to decoration of a nearby suite. Breakfast
was not included but very reasonable at 12 euros
We chose this hotel on the basis of other tripadvisor
reviews, and once again, we agree with other travellers
that this is a lovely place to stay and enjoy Athens. |

"Excellent
location, service, value" |
| This
was my second stay at this Hotel. My previous stay was
in Nov 2008, right during the week of the riots. The hotel
staff remembered me and made me feel at home since the
moment I arrived until the moment I left. This time I
traveled with a colleague and he was also very well impressed
with their warmth, friendliness, and professionalism.
The location is simply excellent, in a very quiet street,
in the Plaka District, right next to the Handrian's Arch,
and within walking distance from the Acropolis Metro Station,
the Acropolis itself, restaurant, shops, etc, etc.
The
standard rooms are very spacious, and include the bed,
sofa, TV, kitchenette and a dinning table with two chairs.
The bed and the rest of the furniture is comfortable.
The suites are huge, and from the terraces you can see
the Acropolis. For my needs (solo traveler) the standard
room was more than enough, and it faced a patio between
buildings, which made it very quiet.
There's
a nice size desk and high speed internet access (ethernet
wire) included in the price of the room, and they tell
me that they are planning to add WiFi in the near future.
If you need a longer ethernet wire and/or a splice they
will lend you one at the front desk.
Best
Regards to all the Staff of the AVA Hotel Athens.
I look forward to going back and to seeing you as soon
as my trips take me to Athens. Keep up the good work. |

"Loved
the service" |
I
have just returned from a business trip in Athens and
I stayed at the AVA Hotel. The Hotel has an excellent
location and the service is personalised. On a walking
distance from downtown Athens and fro the business center.
Also well located if you need to go to Piraeus and close
to the metro station.
It is not a big Hotel, so it is quiet and has a devoted
personel, which makes your business stay very enjoyables. |

"A
positive review with no buts, ifs and ands" |
Finally
I can say for once this is a place to recommend with no
hesitation or condition. Truly what excellent accomodation
ought to be, in one of Athen's best neighbourhoods.
Great location, very decent room size, impeccable cleanliness,
but above all, a friendly, efficient and professional
staff quite hard to find these days. |

"The
team of AVA makes you really feel at home "
|
Last
year I stayed for several months at the Ava hotel as a
permanent guest. The team of Ava makes you really feel
at home. They're friendly and helpful with all kind of
tips and requests. After a hard day of work it felt if
I was coming home in stead of going to a hotel. The hotel
is very pleasant, the rooms are spacious and very clean
with all possible facilities. The location of the hotel
couldn't be more perfect: right in the middle of the old
centre of Athens Plaka; with nice restaurants and bars
just around the corner and a magnificent view of the Acropolis,
the Hadrian Arch and the Temple of Zeus. What do you need
more for a pleasant stay in Athens?!?! I highly recommend
Ava hotel to any guest, whether you are a tourist for
a couple of days or a permanent guest for a longer time.

"Absolutely
the best place to stay long term and short term"
|
I
would first like to thank the staff of the AVA Hotel for
their above 5 star hospitality. I could of not asked for
anything more. I was at the AVA for almost 3 months for
work. I can tell you that at the end of the day I always
looked forward to coming to my hotel knowing that I would
always be taken care of, from room service to any problems
that I needed fixed or solved, especially when it came
to assistance with recommendations of restaurants and
tourist attractions. The AVA also offered gigantic rooms,
which also included
breakfast every morning. And when it came to breakfast
it included hoteggs, bacon, and sausage, which you will
be hard pressed to find in any other hotel (of course
you can get these things at other hotels but at exorbant
costs). Maria, thanks for the special omlette!!! Location,
location, location: The Plaka is right there, the Acropolis
is 100 yards out, Monastaraki is less than half a mile
out, Syntagma Square is a quarter mile out, the Acropoli
Metro Station is only 75 yards out, and endless amounts
of restaurants in close proximity of the hotel. You even
have a Snack/Newpaper Kiosk sitting 20 yards outside the
hotel with an ATM right next to it. The Acropli Metro
Station will take you anywhere in the city ( for the non-walkers).
Trust me, I am not a big walker at 300 Lbs (140 Kilos),
but access to the above locations seemed to be just right
there. The rooms were impressive, especially for the person
who is staying longer. The kitchenette, which included
a fridge, microwave, dishes, sink, ect. came in handy
for those nights that I just wanted to stay in and relax.
You will not get that at the Grand Betagne or the Hilton,
especially at that cost!!!! Believe me when I say this,
the AVA Hotel is the best deal in town and to me it is
the best kept secret in town. Oh, did I mention the view
of the Acropolis from the balcony hotel, yeah its pretty
amazing. If I go back the AVA will be my choice again.
Thanks!!! Dante |

"Great
hotel, excellent location"
|
We
stayed a week in oct 06 at this wonderful hotel. It is
small but has big rooms/apartments and a very capable
and friendly staff. Everything is clean and rather new
and you can not wish for a better location. We based our
decision to choose this hotel on the good reviews of earlier
visitors and they are 100% right.I would certainly recommend
this hotel when you go to Athens which is a wonderful,
clean and safe city with very nice people.

"Great
time in Athens" |
Business
with pleasure at AVA Hotel.
We
had our yearly meeting in Athens this year. As our spouses
were to join us in Athens, we had to find a good location
and hotel to make this combination work. When we as management
team had to work, our spouses should be able to entertain
themselves. But also we wanted to see as much of Athens
as possible in the limited free time we had!
We found that the AVA Hotel was a fantastic choice. The
Hotel is centrally located, in Plaka. For our spouses
ideal, as they wandered around the small streets in Plaka,
went shopping in Ermoustreet and Monastiraki. But also
for us ‘hard workers’, we managed to see a
lot of the city in very limited time.
We
used one of the suites for our meetings. This suite had
free multiple internet access and had a huge veranda,
where we were able to sit during our break. The view was
great, to the right the Acropolis and to the left the
Zeus Temple and the Hadrian Arch. Especially at night,
with all the lights lit on, it was magical.
All our other apartments and suites were spacious, comfortable
and clean. The front ones had the same nice view; the
back ones were facing a backyard and other buildings.
The
staff was efficient and friendly. They seemed honestly
to care about us, and kept asking if everything was to
our wishes, if we needed anything else, etc.
The tea and coffee service which we requested for the
meeting, was a real surprise to us, as it was not accompanied
with just slices of cake, but with typical Greek sweets,
e.g. baklavas.
For our lunches and dinners we had asked the hotel for
suggestions and we also asked them to make the arrangements.
We enjoyed especially our dinner at Orizontes, on top
of Lycabettus Hill, this is a more formal restaurant.
But also at Dionysos, opposite the entrance of the Acropolis,
not so formal, the food was ok. We had our lunches at
some typical Greek, very informal, tavernas in Plaka.
As
our time for sightseeing was limited, the hotel had made
a suggestion what to do and see in Athens. They had provided
us with maps, guide books and a personal guide!
Some of us had been to Athens more than 20 years ago,
and were pleasantly surprised with the changes in Athens.
Some of us only remembered a smelly and noisy city. To
our surprise, we did not have the feeling that we were
in the middle of a big city, especially when we walked
around the quiet (on the back) streets of Plaka and around
all the historical monuments, they seemed to be all connected
by pedestrian roads, no cars around!
We
are thinking of fixing our yearly meeting in AVA Hotel
in Athens.
Our sincere thanks to AVA Management and staff for making
our stay so memorable. |

"Great
Hotel, Great Staff, Great Location" |
Just
back yesterday (April 3) and must say that the AVA Hotel
proved to be a perfect 'home away from home'. The suites
are large, clean and comfortable. The staff went out of
their way to be helpful, and breakfast every morning was
good quality and plentiful. I especially appreciated the
high-speed Internet connection included in the room rate
- the first hotel that I haven't had to pay an extra fee.
And on top of all this, a perfect location in Plaka convenient
to the sites and the Metro.
No
question about it, I'll be staying at the AVA on my next
trip to Athens. |

"HOME,
away from home" |
Our
association with AVA dates back to more than a year and
even now we have a refreshing relationship.
All our colleagues have their initial stay in Athens in
the most comfortable "Home away from home",
AVA hotel. Its location is a very big advantage to any
new comers to the city, JUST IN THE CENTRE, all round
360 degree there is something or the other to see, its
awesome you know! Have to accept the fact that the hospitality
shown by the frontdesk staff is just great.. above all
standards...Especially our need is in such a way that
we would be booking apartments in an adhoc manner depending
on our business needs and VISA availability and believe
it or not its just too adhoc....But to our greatest surprise
we have the extremely extended support from the entire
staff when it comes to booking even amidst the peak season.
We are much grateful for that. When it comes to the rooms
and stay, its a pleasant experience through out. And at
this point i cant forget to mention about the breakfast
served daily.. Wow its just delicious and have a wide
variety ! No one should miss it ! So all through the period,
we were so comfortable that seldom reminds that we are
in a foreign land!
Thanks AVA !!!(And again special thanks to frontdesk staff
for all your directions and help ...Efaristo Sas).... |
